Why Do They Assume Were Stupid?

I have arrived to my new destination. I'll display the pictures that I will take of my new destination in my next update inshala.

It was worth the stay in UAE in the past days. I don't know why I keep missing the UAE whenever I am away. Even though nothing changes around here. But our country stays different in our hearts.

Topic of Discussion
This topic of discussion was chosen after a situation happened between two people. That incident is narrated below by the person with whom it came across in surface detail. (( "I was at a gym here in AD, reading my book and cycling, and a young man came to me asking me where I am from, I told him I'm local.. an alarmed expression spread across his face and with hesitant words he said "YOU ARE LOCAL AND YOU READING AN ENGLISH NOVEL?". What he said really hit me and it took me a minute of silence to get it absorbed. Then I answered back in a plain, offended tone "Yes, you think locals don't read english?". He became aware of my irritated look after he posed that humiliating question. He then tried to clarify that he didn't intend to offend me, and he thought that locals were uneducated and at a high rate of illiteracy." )) The same applies at most workplaces here in the UAE, the direct assumption is that we don't achieve much and therefore end up having to prove ourselves twice as hard as anyone else.
